Try your hand at five different shots to see how you stack up against fellow members and WIN PRIZES!

When: Competition Open February 21st - March 31st

How to participate:

  • During a practice session attempt each of the five shots in succession.
  • You must have one other member with you to verify your scores. This person can also assist you by holding the broom, OR sweeping.
  • Score yourself on each of the five shots using the scoresheet and include the name of the member who is attesting to your score.
  • Email [email protected] your scores for each shot by April 1st.
  • Think you can improve? No problem – try again another day as you can submit more than one score, but not more than once per day.
  • OGCC Member scores will be posted (Click here to see!).

Prizes:

  • Only OGCC Members are eligible for prizes.
  • Everyone who tries the challenge and submits a score will be entered in a draw to win $75 in Pro Shop credit.
  • The player with the highest total score will win $75 in Pro Shop credit. If more than one person has the same high total then we will draw from all top scorers for the prize.

The shots:

  1. The "draw to the button" (throw the rock as close as possible to the centre of the rings)
    • Five points if the rock ends in the seven zone, subtract one point from your score for every zone away.
  2. The "hit and stay" (hit a rock on the back four foot and stay on the button) 
    • Five points if the rock ends in the seven zone, subtract one point from your score for every zone away.
  3. The "tight centre guard" (guard close to the house splitting the centre line)
    • Five points if the rock ends in the three zone, subtract one point from your score for every zone away.
  4. The "corner guard" (halfway guard covering the eight foot)
    • Five points if the rock ends in the two zone, subtract one point from your score for every zone away.
  5. The "raise (bump a guard rock into the rings as close as possible to the centre)
    • Five points if the rock ends in the seven zone, subtract one point from your score for every zone away.
